Overview

This position sits within our Product Development division, which develops, tests, and improves our software solutions in an innovative and collaborative environment.

 

The Opportunity 

 

The Data Science Intern will work closely with a small team of Data Scientist and ML Engineers to build machine learning models to solve business problems. Technologies include Python, TensorFlow, Google Cloud Platform. 

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing  

  • Participate in Agile team meetings and communicate progress. 

  • Data extraction and curation of datasets for ML model training.  

  • Pairing with data scientist to learn how we prototype, build, evaluate, and deploy machine learning models on cloud. 

  • Improve and optimize ML models and algorithms. 

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to communicate outcomes. 

  • Learn and keep updated on state-of-the-art models for computer vision and Generative AI

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Team  

  • Passion to build innovative solutions with AI/ML.  

  • Strong ability to code in Python. 

  • Conceptual understanding of fundamental machine learning concepts.  

  • Familiarity with deep learning frameworks and common data science libraries  

  • TensorFlow 

  • Pytorch 

  • NumPy

  • Pandas

  • Scikit-Learn

  • Matplotlib

  • Fundamental understanding of programming, Data Structures, and Algorithms

  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills

  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information 

Physical Demands and Work Environment  

  • The physical activities of this position include frequent sitting, telephone communication, working on a computer for extended periods of time. Visual acuity is required to perform activities close to the eyes.  

  • This position is fully remote with only occasional travel to the office for team meetings and events. Team members are expected to have an established workspace.  

  • Ability to work remotely in the United States or Canada.
