Overview

This position is hybrid in Atlanta, Georgia and sits within our Product Development division, which develops, tests, and improves our software solutions in an innovative and collaborative environment.

The Opportunity

The Senior Software Engineer enhances our Windows desktop applications using a combination of technologies and standard engineering practices. They are responsible for working with the client application teams, quality assurance team, and architect team to ensure the delivery of high quality, high value product features. 

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Development of large-scale software systems using the latest technologies and agile methodologies
  • Performance analysis and memory utilization
  • Build reusable code and libraries using efficient, testable coding practices
  • Logically identify and resolve issues using root cause analysis
  • Provide development support in debugging and resolving defects as assigned, in support of assigned development projects and/or testing efforts
  • Provide estimates of level of work effort and time for completion

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Team

  • BS degree in Computer Sciences, programming or a related discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience 
  • 5 to 10 years professional experience developing and analyzing windows applications using technologies including C++, MFC, STL, SQL, and Access databases
  • Expert understanding of Object-Oriented Programming Principles, Data Structures, and Algorithms
  • Understanding of Agile processes and workflow
  • Capable of analyzing issues in existing code and providing root cause analysis as well as remedy options
  • Capable of participating in interview process for prospective team members
  • Capable of delivering entire features with no guidance from other engineers
  • Capable of having detailed discussions about product implementation 
  • Capable of providing product insight to better understand feature feasibility and required implementation effort
  • Capable of mentoring Junior Engineers and providing them with technical as well as professional guidance
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities 
  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task efficiently
  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions
  • Experience with C# and WPF a plus

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • The physical activities of this position include frequent sitting, telephone communication, working on a computer for extended periods of time. Visual acuity is required to perform activities close to the eyes.
  • This position is fully remote with only occasional travel to the office for team meetings, events and to the data centers to support/assist in projects/incident. Team members are expected to have an established workspace. 
  • Ability to work remotely in the local Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area.
