The Opportunity
A Software Development Engineer (Test) I at ConstructConnect is a developer with the primary responsibility of ensuring software quality. This is predominantly done through developing test strategies, creating / updating test automation code, executing tests (both automated and manual), and analyzing / troubleshooting defects. It is a unique and challenging role that combines the "building" aspect of software development with the "breaking" aspect of software testing. While they are responsible for all quality activities within their team, the focus is on collaboration and writing code that automatically verifies application changes.
SDET I’s are expected to have competency both in software development and software testing practices. They collaborate with product development teams to ensure the delivery of high quality, high value product features. They understand how our customers use our products and applications, and the technical implementation of them. They ensure our sites, products, and platforms perform to industry-beating quality levels by designing, developing, and maintaining automated solutions using Python / Pytest that support the development, testing, and deployment of our software solutions. SDET I’s may specialize in managing quality within a specific engineering domain (ex: Front-end, Back-end, etc) and are expected to take responsibility for work and follow through on commitments, but proactively reach out for assistance with complex solutioning is expected.
