This position sits within our Product Development division, which develops, tests, and improves our software solutions in an innovative and collaborative environment.

The Opportunity

ConstructConnect is looking for our next Software Engineer I (SEI). As a SEI you will leverage modern technologies to solve complex issues. Implement solutions, deploying them to GCP via our CI/CD pipelines. Your passion for learning drives application enhancements. Collaborate with your team to deconstruct tasks into manageable, testable components, delivering high-quality solutions through Test-Driven Development and automated testing.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Build low-latency, highly available, and performant applications
  • Build reusable code and libraries using test-driven development
  • Logically identify and resolve issues using root cause analysis
  • Adhere to our coding standards
  • Use proper branching and code review processes
  • Provide estimates for the level of effort and time for completion
  • Take part in pair programming
  • Work closely with your team to build automated tests and ensure they are valuable and our applications meet expectations
  • Work closely with your team to break down features into small testable stories
  • Learn continuously
  • Address security vulnerabilities
  • Assist in the management of your team’s CI/CD pipelines
  • Communicate effectively

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Team  

Required:

  • BS degree in Computer Sciences, programming or a related discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years experience with Java or C#
  • 1-3 years experience with JavaScript, React, CSS, SASS or other CSS preprocessor, and HTML
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Familiarity with Git or other SCM tools
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and the necessary steps within a pipeline
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming Principles, Data Structures, and Algorithms
  • Experience (or open to) using Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • A strong desire to write testable code and work closely with your team team to ensure our applications are of the highest quality
  • Capable of analyzing issues in existing code and suggesting solutions
  • Eager to learn

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with Agile processes and workflow

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • The physical activities of this position include frequent sitting, telephone communication, working on a computer for extended periods of time. Visual acuity is required to perform activities close to the eyes.
  • This position is fully remote with only occasional travel to the office for team meetings and events. Team members are expected to have an established workspace.
  • Ability to work remotely in the United States or Canada.
