Overview

This position sits within our Accounting and Finance division which facilitates day-to-day cash flows of the company, analyzes assets and liabilities, and aids planning for future growth.

 

The Opportunity

The Sr. Director, Commissions is an experienced commissions leader who has the unique opportunity to shape and drive the commissions strategy for the organization. This position will oversee commissions design, implementation, and management of the company’s commissions structures and processes. The role is crucial in ensuring that commission plans are aligned with business objectives and motivate the sales team effectively. While this role reports into the Finance organization, it will work closely with Sales leadership on commission plan design.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

Commission plan design:

  • Develop and implement commission plans that align with the company’s strategy and objectives
  • Ensure that commission plans are competitive, motivating and compliant with legal standards.

Commissions calculation and payments:

  • Oversee the accurate calculation of commissions based on sales performance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate commission payments to the sales team.

Data management and reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of sales performance and commission payments.
  • Generate regular reporting on commissions payouts and commission plan effectiveness.

Collaboration and communication:

  • Work closely with Sales and People & Culture to ensure alignment and effective communication regarding commission plans.
  • Address any issues or discrepancies related to commission payments promptly.

Process improvement:

  • Continuously evaluate and improve commission processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Streamline commission plans and reduce the overall number of plans across the organization.
  • Review and revise current commission plans as needed to ensure they are aligned with best practices in a SaaS organization.

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in commission management, sales operations, or a related field.
  • Experience designing commission plans for both new sales and customer success, preferably in a SaaS business, that drive sales performance and align with business goals.
  • Proven track record of improving processes within the commissions space.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to drive optimal results and ensure commission processes.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving commission-related issues.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing a team.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • The physical activities of this position include frequent sitting, telephone communication, working on a computer for extended periods of time. Visual acuity is required to perform activities close to the eyes.
  • This position is considered hybrid. Team members are expected to have an established workspace.
  • Ability to work in the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Area.
