This position sits within our Product Development division, which develops, tests, and improves our software solutions in an innovative and collaborative environment.

 

The Opportunity

The Manager, Software Engineering is a hands-on technical leader responsible for driving innovation, adopting new technologies, and leading change. The ideal candidate demonstrates technical depth and strong architectural understanding, enabling them to coach engineering teams, participate in feasibility discussions, support technical decisions, and is passionate about enabling modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted development. In addition to removing blockers and maximizing team productivity, this leader champions scalable solutions and guides teams through change with empathy and clarity. 

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead, mentor, and support a distributed team of Software Engineers, developing personalized career paths, and encouraging continuous upskilling — including the use of AI-assisted tools for coding, documentation, testing, and code review.
  • Provide strong technical guidance and foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and ethical use of AI across the team. 
  • Support engineers in maintaining focus and delivering quality outcomes by ensuring they understand clear priorities, allocating resources effectively, and resolving blockers early. 
  • Participate in architecture discussions, advocating for scalable, AI-ready systems, and modern development practices. 
  • Maintain and evolve a high-performing team culture by hiring top talent and reinforcing our values of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. 
  • Track, analyze, and report on key engineering performance metrics (e.g., velocity, quality, cycle time), using insights to drive continuous improvement in team effectiveness and delivery outcomes.

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Team

  • BS in Computer Science or a related field, or demonstrable equivalent experience. 
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience using technologies such as C#, WPF, Java, Python, and/or JavaScript. 
  • 4+ years of leadership experience with a focus on mentorship, career growth, and delivery. 
  • Proven ability to mentor engineers and lead technical discussions, from architecture to implementation. 
  • Strong grasp of software engineering best practices: Agile workflows, CI/CD, TDD, code reviews, and build/release automation. 
  • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform. 
  • Familiarity with short release cycles and products in active production use. 
  • Deep knowledge of OOP principles, data structures, and algorithms. 
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating and integrating AI tools into development workflows, debugging, and CI/CD pipelines. 
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. 
  • Committed to sound business ethics and handling of confidential information. 
  • Experience working in Product Operating Model is a plus. 
Physical Demands and Work Environment: 
  • The physical activities of this position include frequent sitting, telephone communication, working on a computer for extended periods of time. Visual acuity is required to perform activities close to the eyes.

  • This position is a hybrid position and team members are expected to have a dedicated and established remote workspace.  

  • Ability to work hybrid in the Metro Atlanta (near Peachtree Corners) or Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Area (near Rookwood Exchange). 

  • Up to 10% travel required
