The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to manage our Infrastructure Engineering group, a core team responsible for the entire networking and cloud infrastructure that powers our business. As the manager, you will guide a team of highly skilled cloud and network engineers, setting the direction to achieve our mission: to establish and operate a best-in-class cloud infrastructure that is inherently secure, strictly standards-compliant, and managed via automation and IaC.

You will be instrumental in ensuring this platform accelerates application development by offering developers pre-configured, reliable environments aligned with enterprise architecture. This role requires a unique blend of deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and exceptional people leadership to build the reliable and secure foundation upon which our innovative web and desktop software is built.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and Mentor: Manage a high-performing team of cloud and network engineers, fostering their professional growth through mentorship, coaching, and clear objective-setting.
  • Drive Strategic Execution: Translate business objectives and architectural requirements into an actionable roadmap for the team. Oversee the design, implementation, and management of our hybrid-cloud and physical network infrastructure.
  • Oversee Technical Operations: Direct the team in architecting and maintaining our enterprise-scale infrastructure, including our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment and on-premise Cisco (ACI, ASA) and Meraki networking hardware.
  • Champion Automation: Drive a culture of "automation first" by overseeing the development and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and scripting with Python.
  • Manage Work and Delivery: Utilize Kanban methodologies to manage the team's workflow, schedule and prioritize work, and ensure timely delivery of projects and maintenance tasks.
  • Engage with Leadership: Act as the primary point of contact between the Infrastructure Engineering team and executive management, clearly communicating project status, risks, and resource utilization through effective tracking and reporting.
  • Govern and Document: Ensure the creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation for all infrastructure, configurations, and procedures. Oversee schedules for patching, maintenance windows, and other operational activities.
  • Manage Resources: Handle equipment procurement, vendor relationships, and budget tracking to ensure the team has the resources needed to succeed.
  • Uphold Security and Compliance: Partner with the Information Security team to implement and monitor robust security systems (firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF), conduct vulnerability testing, and ensure adherence to all compliance requirements.
