This position sits within our Product Development division, which develops, tests, and improves our software solutions in an innovative and collaborative environment.  

 

The Opportunity
The SVP, Engineering & Delivery is a strategic technology leader responsible for driving end-to-end engineering excellence,
program delivery governance, and execution across ConstructConnect’s product and IT portfolio. This role unifies
engineering delivery, PMO governance, quality automation, and operational reliability under one charter—ensuring
predictable, high-velocity, high-quality outcomes that align to corporate OKRs and customer value.
This leader will oversee the Engineering delivery, could and platform scalability, QA Automation, and Project Management
Office (PMO) functions spanning software development, release management, agile execution, vendor delivery, and
operational readiness in a product operating model. They will be accountable for capacity management, velocity, roadmap
alignment, and incident response across a globally distributed engineering organization exceeding 200+ professionals.
The ideal candidate brings a deep background in software engineering, large-scale SaaS delivery, and cross-functional
leadership, with the ability to bridge business priorities and technology execution. This is a highly visible, delivery centric
hands-on leadership role that partners closely with Product, Engineering, Security, IT Architecture, and DevOps to ensure
reliable delivery of business outcomes.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing
Engineering Leadership & Delivery Governance

  • Provide executive oversight of all product and IT engineering initiatives, ensuring disciplined delivery across
    internal and offshore teams.
  • Govern all release engineering and delivery pipelines, balancing speed, stability, and security.
  • Drive engineering modernization and transformation initiatives (e.g., microservices, containerization,
    DevSecOps automation).
  • Establish a consistent cadence for release planning, execution reviews, and delivery retrospectives to
    continuously improve throughput and predictability

PMO, Metrics, and OKR Management

  • Drive deep collaboration with Product Leadership, ensuring tight alignment between engineering and product
    roadmaps, OKRs, and business priorities.
  • Co-own strategic planning and roadmap execution to translate innovation into measurable customer and
    business impact.
  • Lead the Project Management Office (PMO) to institutionalize consistent practices for planning, execution, and
    tracking.
  • Define and publish key delivery KPIs: velocity, predictability, incident rate, throughput, and automation coverage.
  • Govern OKR progress and lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) to measure impact, delivery confidence, and
    capacity utilization.
  • Build and operationalize an executive dashboard of delivery metrics for transparency and data-driven decisions.

Quality Engineering and Automation

  • Oversee QA and test automation strategies to improve coverage, efficiency, and release confidence.
  • Expand automated regression, performance, and security testing integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Champion a “Shift-Left” culture to embed quality early in the development lifecycle.
  • Partner with product and engineering leads to define exit criteria for releases and ensure measurable quality
    gates are met.

Capacity, Velocity, and Incident Management

  • Own capacity planning and resource forecasting across multiple agile teams & multiple product lines.
  • Manage velocity trends and identify process bottlenecks to continuously improve throughput.
  • Govern operational readiness, incident management, and service reliability metrics (MTTR, Sev-1/2 response,
    etc.).
  • Partner with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to ensure seamless release orchestration and cloud operations.
  • Introduce delivery readiness reviews to ensure teams are scoped, staffed, and sequenced for on-time outcomes
    that create value.

Vendor and Offshore Delivery Governance

  • Lead offshore delivery and vendor partnerships ensuring alignment on performance KPIs, resource quality,
    accountability and productivity.
  •  Review vendor contracts, monthly invoices, and performance dashboards to ensure value realization.
  • Develop trade-off models for resource optimization and delivery flexibility.
  • Drive a unified global delivery model integrating vendor, offshore, and internal teams under common
    performance metrics

Risk and Compliance

  • Maintain a comprehensive delivery risk register and ensure proactive mitigation of scope, resource, and
    dependency risks.
  • Partner with security, compliance, and architecture functions to ensure releases meet regulatory and
    cybersecurity standards.
  • Ensure delivery risks are surfaced early, reviewed weekly, and tied to escalation protocols with clear ownership.

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Team

  • 20+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, delivery management, or senior technology
    leadership, including at least 10 years leading large, distributed SaaS or enterprise product teams and
    containerized applications.
  • Proven success leading multi-product agile organizations (20+ scrum teams, 5+ platforms) and leading
    modernization efforts with timely delivery.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving measurable improvements in velocity, quality, and release reliability.
  • Deep experience in OKR design and governance, engineering metrics, and delivery health analytics.
  • Expert knowledge of Agile, and Lean methodologies and tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Strong background in QA automation, CI/CD integration, and incident management.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to negotiate scope, trade-offs, and
    timelines with senior executives.
  • Experience managing offshore teams and vendors across multiple time zones and delivery models.
  • Exceptional written and presentation ability.
  • Proven ability to operationalize complex delivery programs and lead transformation through disciplined
    execution.
  • Mentor and develop senior technology leaders, fostering a culture of feedback, accountability, and growth.
  • Drive talent acquisition, retention, upskilling, succession planning, and promote DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion)
    across engineering and delivery functions.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • The physical activities of this position include frequent sitting, telephone communication, and working on a computer
    for extended periods. Visual acuity is required to perform activities close to the eyes.
  • Team members are expected to maintain a dedicated and ergonomically appropriate remote workspace.
  • Team members who live within commuting distance of one of our office locations (Greater Cincinnati/Northern
    Kentucky or Atlanta, Georgia) are expected to work in a hybrid capacity, with regular in-office presence as determined
    by the team or department.
  • Team members who live outside of commuting distance will be designated as remote team members. While not
    required to report to an office regularly, remote team members may be expected to travel to a designated office location
    occasionally for team meetings, training, or other business needs with reasonable notice.
