Overview

This position is hybrid in Cincinnati, Ohio or Atlanta, Georgia and sits within our Product Development division, which develops, tests, and improves our software solutions in an innovative and collaborative environment.  

The Opportunity

The Senior Engineer enhances our cloud-native web applications using a combination of next-generation web technologies including JavaScript, React, Python, all implemented using modern software engineering practices and continuous delivery. They are responsible for working with the designers and product managers to discover and build features that will maximize value for customers

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Development of large-scale enterprise cloud platforms that service multiple client applications  
  • Performance analysis and memory utilization
  • Build reusable code and libraries using efficient, testable coding practices  
  • Logically identify and resolve issues using root cause analysis  
  • Provide development support in debugging and resolving defects as assigned, in support of assigned development projects and/or testing efforts  
  • Provide estimates of level of work effort and time for completion  
  • Ensures coding standards are adhered to by other team members  
  • Ensures proper branching and code review process take place in team code repository  
  • Participate in scrum ceremonies 
  • Provide technological guidance to peers 
  • Fundamental understanding of software design and delivery 
  • Closely follows advancements in AI and system capabilities to advance our team’s capabilities

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Team  

  • BS degree in Computer Sciences, programming or a related discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • 5+ years relevant experience developing and analyzing web applications using technologies including JavaScript, Typescript, React
  • 5+ years professional experience developing and analyzing cloud infrastructures and back-end systems using Java or Python
  • Experience in client side MVVMJavaScript frameworks like React, Redux, Angular and or similar
  • Familiarity with open-source packages and license types
  • Expert understanding of Object-Oriented Programming Principles, Data Structures, and Algorithms
  • Experience using Unit testing tools such as xUnit/jest and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Expert understanding of Agile processes and workflow
  • Experience with Docker. Including building and deploying containers to cloud systems.
  • Capable of analyzing issues in existing code and providing root cause analysis as well as remedy options
  • Capable of leading the interview process for prospective team members
  • Capable of leading team members in delivering entire features
  • Capable of providing product insight to better understand feature feasibility and required implementation effort
  • Capable of mentoring engineers and providing them with technical as well as professional guidance
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task efficiently
  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems, make decisions, and recommend solutions
  • Demonstrated history of learning and keeping up with new technology trends as well as practices in modern software engineering and continuous delivery, including AI assisted software engineering


Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • The physical activities of this position include frequent sitting, telephone communication, and working on a computer for extended periods. Visual acuity is required to perform activities close to the eyes.
  • Team members are expected to maintain a dedicated and ergonomically appropriate remote workspace.
  • Team members who live within commuting distance of one of our office locations (Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky or Atlanta, Georgia) are expected to work in a hybrid capacity, with regular in-office presence as determined by the team or department.
  • All team members must reside and perform their work within the United States.
