Overview

This position sits within our Accounting and Finance division which facilitates day-to-day cash flows of the company, analyzes assets and liabilities, and aids planning for future growth.

The Opportunity

Come build the operating layer that makes ConstructConnect contract smarter. We are looking for a commercially minded contracts professional who can own the day-to-day agreement lifecycle and build a practical, AI-enabled Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system from the ground up. You will help the business move faster, reduce avoidable risk, and turn scattered documents, inboxes, and approvals into a system people can trust. AI is not a side note here: we expect you to explore it, use it, improve workflows with it, and know when human judgment must take over. Paper-and-pen forever is not a fit.  This position sits within our Accounting and Finance team located at our Cincinnati, OH Headquarters.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Own customer, vendor, SaaS, procurement, partner, NDA, DPA, MSA, SOW, order-form, and amendment work from intake through negotiation, approval, signature, renewal, and closeout.
  • Treat each agreement as a business problem to solve: identify the blocker, clarify the decision needed, and drive it to resolution.
  • Draft, review, and redline agreements; negotiate routine terms within approved playbooks and authority limits; and prepare decision-ready escalations for material exceptions.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Finance, Procurement, IT, Security, Product, and Legal to keep agreements moving and turn contract issues into clear business decisions.
  • Design and build a practical end-to-end CLM operating model: intake, routing, templates, approvals, repository, metadata, obligations, renewals, reporting, permissions, adoption, and continuous improvement. Diagnose root causes, simplify unnecessary complexity, and build processes that work in the real world—not just on paper.
  • Create a contract intelligence layer using approved AI tools for clause extraction, document comparison, risk spotting, summarization, search, renewal tracking, and playbook-aware review.
  • Clean up and structure legacy contract data so the business has a searchable source of truth for parties, terms, obligations, non-standard language, renewals, and exposure.
  • Maintain and improve templates, playbooks, fallback language, checklists, and clause libraries; capture lessons from real negotiations so the system gets smarter over time.
  • Build useful dashboards and operating rhythms for contract volume, cycle time, aging, approvals, renewals, obligations, exceptions, and adoption.
  • Support privacy and third-party compliance work when it touches contracts, including DPAs, security/privacy questionnaires, vendor evidence, and data-use terms.
  • Get occasional exposure to AI-compliance operations, including AI-tool intake, approval records, registry updates, conditions tracking, and recurring reviews.
  • Use AI boldly but responsibly: test new approaches, verify outputs against source documents, protect confidential information, and never let a fluent answer replace sound judgment. When the path is unclear, bring structure to the problem, make the tradeoffs visible, and move the work forward.
  • Adapt to evolving business needs and take on related contract, process, compliance, and operational responsibilities beyond those specifically listed here.
  • This job description in no way implies that the duties listed here are the only ones that team members can be required to perform

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Team

  • Three or more years of experience in contract administration, contracts operations, legal operations, procurement operations, sales operations, commercial legal support, or a related role.
  • Hands-on experience reviewing commercial agreements, preparing redlines, negotiating routine terms, coordinating approvals, and escalating exceptions.
  • Strong working knowledge of liability, indemnification, payment terms, termination, confidentiality, intellectual property, data protection, insurance, auto-renewal, and governing law.
  • Evidence that you have built or materially improved a process, workflow, knowledge base, automation, reporting system, contract repository, CLM implementation, or other operating system—not just operated one.
  • A builder’s mindset: you can start with a messy problem, form a point of view, make a practical first version, learn from users, and keep improving it.
  • Comfort with modern AI tools and curiosity about what they can do. You are willing to experiment, challenge old processes, and turn useful experiments into reliable workflows.
  • Strong written communication, commercial judgment, organization, follow-through, and professional persistence.
  • Comfort with Microsoft Word tracked changes, spreadsheets, document repositories, CRM/CLM, workflow tools, and structured data.
  • B2B SaaS, software, technology services, subscription-business, customer-contracting, vendor-management, or public-company experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, or contract-management/procurement credential is helpful but not required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • The physical activities of this position include frequent sitting, telephone communication, and working on a computer for extended periods. Visual acuity is required to perform activities close to the eyes.
  • Team members are expected to maintain a dedicated and ergonomically appropriate remote workspace.
  • Team members who live within commuting distance of our office location (Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky) are expected to work in a hybrid capacity, with regular in-office presence every Tuesday and Wednesday each week.
  • All team members must reside and perform their work within the United States.
